Skitter's Litter
Skitter had been rather insistent on being petted and wanting to be touched and held on Tuedsay afternoon. Even when I went to bed, she insisted on sleeping on my chest, or digging into my pillows to be as close as possible. She craved that physical touch.
She's two months pregnant too, and due to pop any day. I had prepared a place for her in a plastic tub that I could move as needed. Easy to clean too.
At 3 AM she got very insistent on headbutting me awake. Once awake, I turned on the desklamp and she had turned tail first to me where I saw this glistening orb sticking out of her bum- ah... is that... nah, couldn't be...
OH GOOD GRIEF!
I got her into the tub with the bedding and watched over her for the next hour or so as she birthed six new kittens. I haven't been through that before, so it was neat. She did great, took care of them perfectly.
The photo here shows the litter at about 16 hours old. I'm sure as they age over the next few weeks I'll have a few more pics to share for you all to go AWWWWWWW over. :)

Kitties are cute...
It's interesting how the mother let you and even invited you to witnesses the birth. Usually they get very shy and protective around that time and find a secret spot to give birth. That means there is a very close relationship between your that cat and you.

at least she didnt do as my sisters cat we went camping so she had to be brought along she liked to sleep in the sleeping bags so when she dove in mine it wasnt unusual
it was when i felt this gush of wet i went to move and she set claws into my inner thigh sis an mom checked careful as they could as she tended to clench claws when they moved the bag i played bed for the birth of 5 only when the cat got up was I let up

Seconded! We want a kitty! Especially if any of them turn out to be tortoiseshell, I call dibs. :3 (Hard to tell from the pic.)
