Alexander stood there for a moment, thinking about what he had been told. ‘Deconstructors? Returning in nine months?’ He thought, his face twisted in disbelief and a shred of fear. ’How can they be returning and where will they emerge?’ All these questions ran through Alexander’s head before he went and sat down at his desk. Opening a drawer, Alexander pulled out a map of Purgatory. In the center was a large mass of land that seemed to take up the whole map but there were various colored areas. Yellow represented a desert, green were woods and forests, blue were lakes and the ocean and black represent areas controlled by the forces of darkness. Tracing a finger over the map Alexander marked the areas that Ethan had spoke of.
‘If I travel to Jazda then I should arrive there by nightfall, assuming that nothing slows me down. The Forgotten Ones will come last, they’re to far away and the journey is far too dangerous alone.’ Alexander thought, tracing the path with his quill.’ After Jazda I can head to the Enubian Elves, their forest isn’t far from Jazda or Drajua, just a couple thousand leagues.’ He said, circling a large forest to the south of Drajua, which was in the center of Purgatory. ’After that I’ll have to go to Crelaion Woods, the path out of Pentorian runs right by the path into Crelaion. However there’s still Nakar and Kaynin...’ Alexander said, tapping his quill on the black areas.’ They won’t openly welcome the God-King of Lumen thats for sure….Valixai might be able to convince them though, I hope...’ Alexander finished, putting the quill back in its ink pot. “So its settled then, this will be my route.” Alexander said out loud, rolling up the map and heading towards the door.
Alexander left the study, making sure to lock the door behind him and went to his room. ‘Ethan only said of seven but what about...’him’ ?’ Alexander thought, opening the door to his room and stepping inside.
His room was fairly large. A king sized bed sat in the middle of the room with a walk in closet to the far left of the door. A button was on the wall to the far right with a sign on it, the words written in an ancient language. Putting the map down, Alexander went to the button and pressed it, a secret door opening up just beside the button. Inside sat thirty armor stands and ten weapon racks. ‘ Might as well prepare for the journey.’
He thought to himself, stepping inside of the armory. Inside there were all kinds of weapons and armor. Pistols and rifles, swords and bows, there were even explosives in a nearby chest. Moving to a pair of pistols, Alexander took them out of their display case and put them in the back of his pants. Vanessa and Anna he called them. Vanessa was all black with an extended clip and had the word ‘Sacrifice’ engraved into the right side of it while Anna was all white with highly explosive rounds and the word ‘Guardian’ engraved into the side of it like Vanessa.
Next, Alexander grabbed a snow white long sword from a large display case that dwarfed the rest in comparison. The sword was all white, blade and all but it wasn’t like your average sword. This sword radiated with power and seemed to glow slightly when in his hand.
“Kalistora, you there?” Alexander asked it.
‘I am here, Ser Alexander.’ The sword answered through telepathy.
“We’re going on a very long trip.” He said with a small grin.
‘Its time isn’t it?’ It asked flatly. He nodded and put the sword in a pure white sheath, strapping it to his right hip. Moving to one of the armor stands, he looked over a suit of pure white armor.
The skin tight armor seemed to glow, it many not seem but it was also heavy, equivalent to a three hundred pound set of plate armor.
The gauntlets had small black gems with grey swirling mist in them, located directly in the center at the back of the hand. A black cape attached to the armor and the helm looked like it covered one’s eyes entirely save small slits, allowing the wearer to see through.
Lastly, the boots sported razor sharp blade tips that could cut through flesh and bone with ease. Despite all that, the suit of armor was very light weight for Alexander and Alexander alone. He undressed then put the armor on quickly, moving around in it so that he could adjust.
He finally moved to what looked like a large wardrobe. He grabbed the handles and slowly pulled the doors open, inside was an extra piece of armor specially made for his tail. Along the back of the tail armor were razor sharp spikes, resembling the spikes on a dragon’s tail and the very tip ended in a sharp point, made so that it could slice through air to become faster. Like his tail, it too could extend to great lengths. Putting it on, Alexander swung his tail about to get a feel for it before nodding happily and walking out of the armory. As he left, he pressed the button and the secret door closed behind him in silence.
“Kalistora, we might not come back this time, you know that right?” Alexander asked his sword.
’You say that all the time you old dog, but yes I know. Even so, I will lend you my power like I always do. ‘ The sword answered.
Alexander moved to the door before Elizabeth suddenly came in, looking worried.
“Dad, I’m coming too.” Elizabeth said sternly.
“No,its too dangerous this time Elizabeth.” Alexander answered.
“I don’t care! I want to help!” She shouted, making Alexander sigh.
He knew that once she had her mind set on something there was no chance of changing it.
“Alright, go gear up, we leave as soon as you’re ready.” Alexander said.
Soon, Elizabeth returned to her father dressed, in light weight leather armor and two short swords strapped to her sides along with a longbow and a full quiver strapped to her back.
“Ready.” She said, nodding to her father. As they left Alexander thought to himself.
‘So it begins, the journey to save Creation...’
