Edana (eh-day-nuh) was one of the children born in Ambrosia's twenty-year "breeding boom" following the announcement of Zezzuva's retirement. Because of her duality wings, she is one of few female offspring Ambrosia has shown any interest in. Despite this, and possibly because she does not also have dual-colored eyes, Edana was still mostly ignored by her mother and was raised mostly by other members of her clan. However, when Edana asked to convert to Ambrosia's clan, Ambrosia agreed, and even placed Edana fairly high in the clan's vaguely-defined ranking system.

Edana is said to be one of few cubi who truly understand Ambrosia's true goals in abusing and sacrificing her own clan members, ascending, and why she radically favors her male descendants over the females. She is also often noted as the popular option to lead an in-clan revolt against Ambrosia, and is strongly associated with the potential leaders of coups from other clans, making Ambrosia's acceptance of her even more confusing. Any questions on these topics, however, are bluntly rejected.

Despite her refusal to discuss the workings of her own clan, she often shows interest in the combat, political, and societal strengths and weaknesses of other clans, no matter how disinterested Ambrosia herself may be in the clans Edana investigates. She is highly skilled at the use of her wing-tentacles in day-to-day activities, sometimes using them exclusively for days on end and keeping her hands in her pockets the whole time. She is one of few Ambrosia-clan cubi to openly associate with the Insectis clan or clan Ambrose. Her personal habits including cooking and knitting, and she even has a small herb garden in her room and dyes her own yarn.

Having been born into clan Zezzuva, Edana did have a twin, but she rarely talks about her except to state that she died "of her own actions" outside of SAIA and prior to Ambrosia's ascension. Records show that Edana's twin was named Zaviera and was executed for kidnapping, torture, murder, impersonating a government official, and aiding and abetting a known criminal (another cubi, previously imprisoned for similar crimes, escaped with Zaviera's help as the first step in her crime spree, fate thereafter unknown). Zaviera did not possess duality wings.
