Have you seen the clever ad for Kias, with digitally created hamster characters? If so, you've seen the cleather-clad hamster babe. But you may not know that the ad is only a fraction of the entire video. From the creation of the first hamster babe, more are made, and a wild party ensues. Here's the fist shot of the line up!
A free download of the video (without the lacklustre soundtract) can be had at:

The 10 meg MP4 looks crisp, and plays with VLC.

I've only seen the longer version of that commercial on TV once. Kinda raises questions, I mean, is that how all female Kia hamsters are made? (And is that a plug-in hybrid or all electric Kia Soul?)
But, what with this Kia ad, the Dish network ad with the "Hopper" kangaroo, the new cgi "Laughing Cow" cow, the Carfax fox, there's quite a few anthropomorphic animal mascots on TV at the moment.

I liked the Carfax fox better as a puppet (which is what he started out as), he's since become cgi, because everyone likes that better, right?
I would hope that furries are still insignificant enough as a group so as to not give advertisers a reason to stop using animal mascots. I've missed seeing them.
Or maybe, if enough people wear their fursuits to thier Kia dealerships and buy a car, other car manufacturers follow. Then maybe Chrysler will make ads with, I don't know, posh squirrel girls to sell the 300. Or Ford will make adorable mustang pony ads or something. That could happen, right?

Ah, maybe a soul is merely an option.
Or perhaps, like a Kia Soul (I'm gonna keep rolling with this car analogy) the base model may look just as nice as the higher trim levels on the surface. But one day, you will realize the 1.6 liter engine is lacking, and that maybe it would have been better to have the 2.0 liter. The same car in the looks department, but I'd rather have one with something more going on under the hood.
If you know what I'm saying. (And I'm not sure I know)

But going partway between 'chubby hamster' and 'hot girl' heads into the territory of 'fat chick' (or BBW), which advertisers only consider suitable for weight-loss commercials.
Advertisers are using furries more in their ads, but they still do not UNDERSTAND furries. Then again, advertisers don't understand humans either, so I guess it's par for the course.

advertisers, or more accurately, media/marketing experts, come off a school, where they boldly teach things noone has taught before them. so these marketing experts think they know what people want, and refuse to listen to people like graphics designers, or advertizing developers. then you get an ad that leaves you wondering what they were smoking, or what it was all about. there was a strange Mercedes ad where scientist hands held chicken up, moving them to and fro while some 60's music was playing. in the end you found out it was about a new electronic helper, and wondered what was with them chicken?
the really cool ads come out if the marketing experts have the guts to say, "here is the product/line of product/ services we offer. do your best." and the advertizers do exactly that. see Hornbacher Werbung...
