the old Mechwarrior 2 when I was in heavy mechs.... "Critical hit: heat sink- critical hit: gyro- critical hit:..." I didn't like em, teh crap at dodging.
At the time I used to load out my mech with mid range, high power weaponry. I'd probably go for more of a sniper mech these days.

I know the LosTech "Achilles" Mech had special damage for using its club-like arm mounted Gauss Rifle as a weapon. Instead of doing normal punch damage, ya added +5 damage to it. Gotta love reinforced weapons. XD
One thing I noticed about the Marauder is that it actually has more than the usual number of arm joints; it actually has I think SIX joints. You could actually curl the arm in such a way that you could fire directly behind ya! Almost as if you were using a mech like the Catapult, that has NO arm actuators, so it could spin the launchers around.

Yeah. You actually had to watch heat and such. Me and my friend started out with Third Edition, so we started with the best of the best IS mechs. The ultimate classics: Stinger, Wasp, Locust, Griffin, Shadowhawk, Wolverine, Rifleman, Archer, Crusader, Phoenix Hawk, Marauder, Thunderbolt, Battlemaster, Warhammer... And we used them well. To the point we HAD to get the other TROs just so we could have a challenge. XD
