At long last, the time has come once again! October has started, a chill is in the air (for those of you who don't live in Florida I assume) and the new season of fright is upon us. I've been waiting for this since Nov. 1st last year and I can't tell you how much I've enjoyed getting to do this year's countdown. I can easily say it's my best yet in terms of art and passion I had for it, getting to do my own thing and just go back to simple basics. So without further adieu, let's begin~

First up on our list, ranking in at no. 31 it's the Ghost and I figure that's fitting enough. They're sort of the supernatural versions of Goombas from the Super Mario Bros. they're the epitome of simple and are the bottom rung of the paranormal ladder.
To put my own perspective on how I depict them; Ghosts are by far the most abundant and varied of all creatures found in the afterlife, ranging from the simple 'wisp' form you see here to one that mirrors (although usually a much more simplified version of) themselves in life. This is usually based upon the strength of the subject's soul, whether or not they can fully materialize or remember what they used to looked like... but as is the case with nearly everything in the Netherworld, this is not set in stone.
Ghosts also are not always spirits of the departed, odd as that may sound. The 'wisp' types like this can often be manifestations of a powerful emotion, or just a very rudimentary ectoplamsic creature unable to take on a more solid form. For the more traditional sense, people become ghosts in the case that their death was entire natural, or otherwise without any note or interest. Of course their attitudes vary as much as their form, ranging from brainless pests to average, up right citizens.
But whatever form they take, you're bound to see them every where, whether it be in Purgatory or just in regular, boring every day life. They're a dime a dozen and the most simple creatures of all, thus why they ranked no. 31
