Yeah, changed the name. :)
This is just the sketch overlay for transferring lines. The finished piece will be 9" x 12" color pencil, Copic and micron pen. Gonna try some new paper and technique on her.
She will be an arctic fox although she looks somewhat like a raccoon now. I will use a photo ref when I work on the face.
She will also be a lot fluffier and far less bony looking when done.
Yeah, definitely a mix of cultures and I will probably try to mix in more as I go. Hmmm, Celtic? :)
As always critique and suggestions are welcome. But be quick about it, I'm starting her now!!!
Been struggling with the Background on my zebra piece. It's coming along but I had to take a breather and sketched this late a couple nights ago at the spur of the moment.
Ref'd the lotus position but they are pretty much all the same.

The inuksuk is a cairn used by Eskimo/Inuit sometimes to mark places of veneration, although they can be used to mark lots of other things as well. The significance of it should be known to people who know what an inuksuk is. Also many Arctic shamanic traditions that I know of, especially in North Asia and America use distinctive masks in their ceremonies, some of which represent animals, including foxes. Pictures of those aren't too hard to find on the Internet, though sometimes you'll have to be specific, like running a search for "Yupik masks".
