Retro = awesome. I, for one, am definitely enjoying the "Bloom County" vibe. Now tell Mr. Tentacle to buzz off before you call Samus on him... ;)

To be frank, the comic could involve more hardcore sex and maybe a dash of color now and again.

Bloom County was the comic all other comics should aspire to be. Hop on the nostalgia train already, floating beastie!

It's one I created myself in Fontlab Studio, based on the lettering style of Berke Breathed.

The common name is screentone. Zip-A-Tone was a particular brand of screentone, but much like Xerox, it's name became a generic moniker for the product.

I actually used to use the Letraset version of it, which came on translucent film, and had to be cut to shape with an x-acto knife and stuck on like a sticker. There was another version (can't remember the brand name) that came in rub-on sheets.

It's a lot less hassle to do it in photoshop.

Manga artists also used it a lot too :3
