As we reluctantly start to reach the end of this great month and enter into the Top Ten category of this countdown, I can't think of anything better to start off the final countdown then the overtly iconic mad scientist character! From Frankenstein to Frank N. Furter this is one of the most widely used and loved horror cliches, showing us that often the monster isn't something super natural, but the human whose willing to sacrifice everything to achieve their goals! These kinds can also range from the comical to terrifying, but whatever the case I love them, so much that I put in some subtle artistic homages to my three all-time favorite mad scientists in this character's design, kudos to whoever spots them! (though if you know me well enough you probably already know who those three are)

I really couldn't think of placing the crazed doctor anywhere lower then no.10 and honestly I could have put him higher. Not only are they super iconic, but they bring so much more to the table then just themselves. More often then not they're the cause of whatever is happening. All the chaos and super natural problem in so many stories are linked to them, and their labs so often create the perfect backdrop of Halloween imagery. To the mad scientist, we solute you. We couldn't have a Halloween Countdown without you!

Do I really have to say how they'd be seen in Purgatory? I mean really, if you're a mad scientists in real life, you'll probably be one in the hereafter as well, simple as that! ...but I guess when everyone is a monster, creating one really loses it's luster so maybe they all reform once they die.
