# Frankenstein Monster

Just shy of the Final Five, it's the Frankenstein monster, that's right, the MONSTER. Sorry, it's just a major pet peeve of mine when the creature is called Frankenstein. I understand it's just an easy short hand, but that's the name of the doctor, not the monster. I prefer calling it 'The Creature'... but I digress.
The Creature was probably the number one thing I was most anxious to draw for this entire countdown and in a lot of ways was the reason I went with this year's theme. Before I even had the thought in my head, this picture and pose for the Creature was in there. I could visualize it so well and wanted to draw it badly, but then I thought "Why stop there? Why not do all of them?" and this year's Halloween Countdown came to be! To be honest I actually feel bad for putting him at only no.6, I'd place him higher, if not even winning just out of the sheer fact that it inspired this entire year's idea, but I had other ideas that I feel not only best the Creature as an idea and icon of Halloween, but things I just generally like better, he was intended to at least make it into the Final Five, but at the last minute I put one above him. Still, 6th place is nothing to sneeze at.
Now while I like a few other monsters more then the Frankenstein one, that's not to say I don't like it! I really love the whole general look it has and as it's high ranking shows it's one of the most widely known and loved monsters of this holiday. However, despite liking it, I don't really seem to draw it a lot... strange. The Creature is a fun character because it can be depicted as either a threat or kind depending on how you want to go with it and a lot of times it can be both, becoming that sympathetic tortured character and I think that's where I like it most. It doesn't know what it is anymore and if something like this happened to you I think you'd lash out a bit as well! Again this killed two birds with one stone for since I really wanted to draw a living brain creature for this countdown, so I hid that idea in there with this~
To be honest, monsters akin to Frankenstein's really shouldn't appear in Purgatory... I mean it's pretty specific thing, restricted only to that of the doctor that created... but they appear, simply because they're funny looking XD I suppose one could say that they exist there when a deceased mad scientist starts experimenting on the dead there... or when someone who's into self mutilation dies... but I can't say for certain, they're just there because I said so. They have a tendency to be the most sassy of all races too. Why? Again, because I can!
