Remember, this is why I had the request for naming a few months ago. Nau-sea was a fine suggestion but was rejected due to copyright issues.. err yeah, that's it, that's the ticket.

If I had more money I would likely be working on mine and getting it rebuilt and then shipshape... I'm still working on the lay out but I'm tossing around the idea like something like this http://www.mission-base.com/sea-lan.....ip_layout.html in a 40 foot hull. Changes maybe make the forward berths into a saloon with a forward cockpit.

Sounds like a very worthy project. I wish you all the luck in the world. Boats and budgets do not get along too well in my experience..

Is it... down by the bow an inch? Just asking. Personally, since I was ten I've always wanted a private cabin boat like the one shot up in The Final Countdown. It was a Gatsby cruiser, an Uncle of mine in Kentucky had one on boards in his pasture and I fell in love with the design.

It is listing to starboard a bit and likely is down at the bow. These boats are designed to have some water in the bilge and the potable water tank full. I recently pumped all of the water out of the aft bilges and the potable water tank is about 3/4 empty so it isn't quite on an even keel at this point.

Agreed, the Criss-Craft was a beautiful little ship, but so far out of my reach on my best day that I settled. Usually by the stern and a bit to starboard.

Not today they aren't, these days if you look around hard enough you can find them for free or nearly so. The younger generations don't care about boats and aren't interested in the big gas guzzlers of yesterday. I bought this beauty for $1800.

T'was an awesome day and I even felt a might captain-ish sitting up top. Glad to be of service.
