- Of Light and Darkness: Movement I -
[New Music]
Part of a 3 part mini-symphony/composition as the theme to
jocarra, whom has three forms. First form is "Jayli." You'll probably notice at the end the mood changing quite dramatically, the next stage will be "Ash", a dark, beast form. Shape shifters are SO much fun XD
The next two installments will feature over the course till the end of the year. At the end it'll make up one large ensemble. ^_^
Happy listening!

This is really awesome... but just to tell you isn't enough. I need to describe you the situation when I was listening to this song.
I sat right in front of my computer and started this song. A few moments ago I watched a movie called "the Orphanage" ... really good horror-movie, which you definitely have to watch too. But ...
What I wanted to say was, that I really need all of my willpower not to look backwards when your song suddenly became very dark. Grrrrrr! I could kill you for that!
This song is not nice, it's a really bad song! It's horrible, terrible and it just hits the point. ;)
Awesome work hun. I'm curious about your next works :3

your music hits me so hard, fox. It's like you wrote everything just for me. It's like looking at a hauntingly beautiful portrait whose eyes follow you no matter your angle of viewing. It's a full aesthetic experience, vibrations of the soul. Am i making myself clear?? *kowtows*
*big hugs* Thank you SO much for doing such wonderful justice to Jayli/Jocarra's theme. It's been super-fun and exciting doing this trade with you :3 Totally look forward to the next part ;)
I'm so pleased with the theme you picked. You've done an excellent job composing a melody that, so far, that is dark and haunting one moment, and ethereal and enchanting in another, and promises to continue to be just as flexible. You totally nailed this one on the head. *hugs* I love every bit of it, from the dark and foreboding beginning, to the sad/beautiful melody in the buildup, to the wonderful piano/string section, and the lovely Oriental-influenced part... and of course the awesome spiral into chaos and shadow at the end X3 Bwahaha!
So excited for the next part :D Hope you have something fun for me to draw!
I was just wondering what you see/feel in the piece :) Like... do you see anything cinematic, or imagine anything in particular happening? Gimme details! I'd love to know :)

That's neat :3 I definitely understand - like the specific environment is part of who she is.
Did you see anything change with regards to action or activity as the music changed? Like... from the first, mysterious/dark build up, to the pretty piano part, to the Oriental-esque section, to the dark lead-up to Ash?

*nods* Aye, When I was going through the transitions, it was like I was trying to flick through to another "Episode." The images and pics of her you gave me really helped. And when I was performing the final drum section at the end, I could almost feel a hot breath billowing on my shoulder. It's freaky the way I compose XD
Hmmm... Reminds me of Pirates for some reason. Or the opening scene to a really good movie. That's it! It's very similar to the opening sequence of Secret Window. AWESOME job fox, the strings are really good. You can really feel the emotion and deepness of the plot going on in the background. Sounds like a love story. The LakeHouse. Idk xD I'm just muttering mindlessly now.
This is really neat. Parts of it in the middle reminded me a little bit of the score to the Lord of the Rings movies. I especially liked how the beginning and end to this movement had such tension and mystery with such dissonance in the music. Great work as always.

For almost four minutes of music, it actually seemed longer! As I was listening I was thinking: Oh, that's a bit Harry Gregson-Williams, that percussion was a bit John Powell and oh those effects and stuffs were quite Hans Zimmer-y... and of course, they're all big time film composers!
