Seriously. Just don't. He's sensitive about it.
Wacom Graphire and Painter IX; About 15 - 20 hours total. Awesome backlight is awesome.
On a side-note, it's been almost exactly one year since my last Minotaur pic. :P

Can I call him Steve? Please? ^.^
Seriousl, this is wonderful. The growing morning light backlighting him is sheer genious, making him even more imposing, especially with his glowing, red eyes. Also, the angle of the ruins and the swirling, groun-level mist pushes pushes the viewer with a sense of chaos. All and all, this is wonderful!

Heh, I think I know what you mean. I guess it's usually because the transition between the human and animal parts is too harsh and thus looks unnatural and unbelievable.
That's actually a general problem I've noticed even in high quality artwork, on i.e. epilogue. Sometimes there's paintings that are super-detailed and realistic, and yet it looks like some elements of the picture don't mesh well with the rest, because they are all heavily based on reference images and the artist didn't pay enough attention to different lighting, style etc.
Anyway, I just felt like doing a more "classic" portrayal of a minotaur, unlike my last. Partly because I wanted to render some more detailed anatomy and skin-tones, without covering it all up in fur. :P
Thanks for the feedback!

I think I'll call him "AUUUUGGHH!! OH, GOD, RUN FOR YOUR LIIIIIIIIVES!!!"
As usual, the details astound... the light in the background and the cast shadow his body creates really gives us the feel that it's the fucking apocalypse. I'd repent right now, but looking at this thing right here, I'm afraid I've a got a few sinful things going through my head.
