I really like this page and that face that guard does as he clearly have never seen anything like this before and Kass seems to be really happy and might even have forgotten about what to be angry about. But Iām sure things will happen soon enough that will make him wish he was still a male human being. Canāt help to wonder what he will do when males starts to run after him and he... still have to stay I guess, because of his current work that he have gotten from his boss.
Crazy ideas? Didnāt they say they had few females because of something that had happened if I remember right? Also Kass likes girls I guess. What would happen if a male walked over to him and flirt with him somehow? Would he just smile and be polite towards him or want to get away from him?
Thanks! I've been figuring out lots of little ways to make the art more solid in its comic-ey style; right now I'm playing around with the balance between hard and soft shading (while keeping it from getting too complex and time-consuming), and I think I've just about got it figured out.
On that note, do you typically use grayer shades of color for shadow layers, one color overall, and/or do you ever give each color area its own individual color of shadow?

Well, it seems to be paying off.
Sorry for the late reply, been busy. So, normally my darks are just the flats layer with the brightness turned down. This looks desaturated. However, it's not that apparent on the skin when I apply SSS, since that makes it redder. I believe this how it works IRL. You can see the effect here: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/14948642/
On my 2kinds piece though, Watsup dropped in and blew my mind. So I can see you're using custom shadow colors on some of the skin, and it looks great, vibrant, but I bet it takes a while? We were discussing how 2kinds does it, as they have very saturated shadows: http://twokinds.keenspot.com/archive.php?p=841
In photoshop, you ever clicked the half filled circle beneath the layer panel in the bottom right? Turns out you can spawn adjustment layers. Use a masked Color Balance to create saturated shadows, a handful of different ones for different areas. You can then just copy these filter layers from doc to doc. Super easy. Also be sure to try a blue-red-yellow "Gradient Map" at a low opacity, and just a couple of normal layers above the characters that you draw on with a big soft low-opacity brush for easy gradients. Setting that to "multiply" will preserve underlying brightness if you want.
The dude seems to know his stuff, as my 2kinds pic has over 100 faves more than any previous pics have had in this time period. 0_o

Actually, why not? If I were transformed into a yinglet I would not be able to say "another" (for example), but why would I write it as "anozher"? It would take extra effort for me to learn to write it the new way. And even people who have always spoken with a lisp (for example) still spell normally.
At this point in development that was not so different from humans. And dying young meant dying of a horrible disease. I might prefer to die quickly like a yinglet than of smallpox, diphtheria, typhus, etc. And yinglets are probably disease free (having evolved where they had).
By the way, the glow on the last panel definitely makes me think of Scott Pilgrim
Elim has to whistle because, in these days, elevators don't have calming music playing, which is often used as a joke in such instances as https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=nAgSecmB9lM or https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=oZuwZiaW4kA.
