Here's the scene from Chapter 27 of my novel, "Family Tails", where Dr. Sumter takes literally his last step. Dr. Darcy Nemeth is on the left, between her and Sumter is Mike (Left) and Ron (Right) with weapons drawn. Sumter, unfortunately (for him), just received -- I supposed you could say -- "divine retribution" for the monstrosities he created via an unusually powerful lightning bolt. In the upper right is the massive EF-5 tornado bearing down on The Center -- "clean up on aisle 3" (snicker). In the background you can see part of the covered parking area for the staff, with a couple of vehicles.

I drew this using a 0.5 mm mechanical pencil with HB lead, a 0.3 mm mechanical pencil with 4H lead, a 2B and 6B graphite stick, various blending and shading tools, on Georgia-Pacific "Everyday Copy & Print" paper.Art, characters, & story © 2013-2015 Ronald J. Lebeck (that's me).
