This is sort of an architectural rendition of "The Center for Genetic Research and Development", from my novel "Family Tails". The above ground portion of The Center (shown here) mimics a well-to-do farm with a Georgian-style two-story house, traditional barn, a pole barn, equipment building, large pond, play area, and garden. In the foreground -- just inside the wall -- is covered parking for the staff. The first floor of the "house" contains offices, a dining area for the staff, and access to the lower levels. Although it looks like a regular barn on the outside, inside it is a steel reinforced concrete structure designed to withstand severe storms. If you look closely, you will see quite a few security cameras all around the grounds -- there are more that you can't see, of course, and in the complex below ground, they are everywhere except for in the restrooms (about the only privacy the G.E.L.F.s have). The vast majority of "The Center" is located underground, comprised of seven large levels, each the area of the whole walled grounds above. The buildings all have access to the first level below, though the "equipment building" in the far back of the compound has access to a freight elevator for moving supplies and equipment to each level below.
