Oh yeah... It took me a minute. I've seen worse as in the Black Slab opening up to another time and dimension where the place was crowded with old fashioned Sailors from the late 1800s. "My God! It'd full of Tars!" Or worse yet, the Slab gated the viewer to A Chakat Party. "My God! It's full of Taurs!" Then there was the "Total Recall" version... "Mine Gott! Itz fulla MAARS!"

2001 - always a classic.

Not quite 2001, but more of a tribute to one of the original Salt Flat racers, and my thoughts of following Mr. Kraft's rule, "Take off everything that doesn't make the car, (Starship.) go fast." It's more Star Trek tech, as opposed to the "Kubrick" ideas of spacecraft design.

Gee...! Do you remember Rowbrazzle? The original Furry APA that at one time came in several volumes twice a year that the US Post Office dreaded delivering? It's still out there, but a sad, former shade of what it was.

Me too. The ship is small enough that it would make a pretty impressive model in 1/144 scale or even 1/288. Of course with my tired old eyes and shaky fingers it might be a bit over ambitious of me to build the model in 1/72nd scale. (The resulting model would be nearly five feet long.) Anyway, the fun part would be in mixing subtle Truck, Automotive and Star Trek spacecraft design nuances with a touch of humor. The fun part would be coming up with all that cool "Gizmology" and plumbing. I plan to start building the main form from styrofoam or perhaps sheet styrene, as I might want to light the model up. Of course I figure the best way to start would be to draw scale plans of the basic ship...

Well if you manage to get her done quirks and all I'm sure she'll be a beaut.

Having said that, I reckon 1/2400 would be a little less taxing!

I was having a bit of fun thinking up what a Federation fast scout ship might look like if designed and modified by custom show car designers,

That would be cool to see, what auto designers would think up for spaceships as it would be really interesting to see.
Reminds me of the cool sci-fi novel covers with spaceships on them or the concept artwork like in, Alien and Aliens for the designs of the ship and other high tech stuff.
