It won't endanger anyone outside the arena. On the island the arena battle tournament takes place the arenas are incased in a barrier specifically designed to protect everyone outside from something as foreseeable as super wide blow outs to a trigger happy bear http://www.furaffinity.net/view/8276055/ (part of the barrier is visible via that red band in the background) holding a laser rifle and a rocket rifle blasting her opponents. The barrier does allow people in and out, so ring outs are possible.

Now why Sol threats to blow himself up? Well the big one is, that he does not see his opponent to be a threat. :)

Oh he has ways around that, he was built for it, provided he wasn't too hurt or screwed (I.E his shadow beasts failed and sealed his power, leaving him in a bloated mess) since it still hurts him. xD
However, as long as his power doesn't fail, he can do multiple things with his shadow beasts, which means he can still strike those unfortunate to never figure out his weaknesses while ready to burst. But yeah Addy just might be crushed. xD

Ik the universal dragon week spot in between their wings, 2 the underbelly doesn't do well against swards, and #3 believe it or not a certain spot on their head, but u have to hit them pretty hard to K.O them....but when it comes to this predicament, to turn things in ur favor knock out bastion or....hmm find a way to drain him of the energy stockpiled up
