This is an old Nivlek strip that I drew after finding out about something horrible going on in Alaska. You'll find this version is in color. It's the only Nivlek strip made as a public announcement.
When I learned of the senseless and legal wolf killing I was so shocked I felt sick to my stomach. The Governor who started this, Murkowski, is out of office so I had hopes that the wolves would be safe for now. I was wrong. Sarah Palin has kept the barbaric practice going and is even paying a bounty for wolf pelts.
A few things I want to mention:
-Wolves prefer to stay away from humans if possible. Elk and moose are actually more likely to harm a person.
-Wolves maintain a healthy ecosystem by hunting the sick and weak prey. Human hunters do not, they shoot whatever they happen across.
-Wolves mate for life.
-Wolves have as much right to be in Alaska as people, perhaps more since they were there first and they are an important part of the ecosystem.
This isn't Sarah Palin's only act of pollution either. What really scares me is that if McCain wins he could die leaving her as president. It's possible. I really wish the Alaskan voters would elect someone who protects wildlife instead of putting it in danger.

There was a vote for it in Alaska but the conservatives won. Alaska is a red state. The wolves in the norther Rokies are protected again however. I'm not sure what we can do at this point other than spreading the word around.

A really simple way is to look at the people endorsing this, and their ambitions for elections to higher office:

If people really don't like these practices, maybe voters should stop electing proponents of these issues into government offices.

I told my mom about this and she did not believe me, i honestly wish there is more we can do and hope that the bitch Palin does not come to office or become President. Because if that happens, we are pretty much screwed and you can say good bye to the ecosystem. I mean this could be a long shot but, if she becomes President she may just legalize the killing of bald eagles. I could be just over reacting, but you never know what kind of crazy shit she mite do.

That's a really scarry thought, not just for the USA but for the world. x.x
