While on their way to a royal function, Celestia attempts to prepare Twilight for being a princess. As they travel along the ground with a unicorn escort, both Manablade and Celestia become unsettled as they are attacked by someone Celestia had not seen in some time...
Note: This story assumes Equestria Girls and its related continuity did not occur. Though I ended up rather enjoying the first film, it did not line up with the canon continuity in a way that made sense to me, so this spinoff runs parallel to season 4 without Equestria Girls.

this is gonna be good X3
even though i liked sunset shimmer as a goodgal and going through what i like to call a 6/7th pony ranger arc(yes thats a reference to the most badass power ranger there is tommy oliver) start out evil then turn good
but since in this all that never happened im jsut gonna sit back and enjoy the show and like discord said "im going to need more popcorn" x3

My hope was that folks would be pleasantly surprised to see Sunset Shimmer in a 'canon' role, and while I like what they did with the first EG, I think the continuity works better if it's not included.
I have only seen the first two. I loved the first one, it was surprisingly good though it needed another 10 minutes of runtime to address plot points and add more depth, but two was just... A battle of the bands, and I didn't like that they titled it Rainbow Rocks when it wasn't about her. It was about the group. I haven't seen the third and do not want spoilers.

I didn't like that it was about a battle of the bands plotline, which is super cliche in high school plots, and I didn't like the title. I thought the first was stronger. I did like Sunset Shimmer's new role, but if the story had been stronger I'd have been happier with it. I'm a story connoisseur.
