TOONY vs REALISTIC ROO COMPARISON

They wanted to see a front view of the upper left roo form and you all know how hard it is to twist my arm to draw roos. :)
So here's the requested picture, and while I was at it, I drew up a few more details, underbody forms, and then how they compare to a real kangaroo. Mostly it is in the leg structure. Do you want your roo to be a toon/morph or realistic? Both have their pros and cons.
So, do these sorts of sketches help anyone? I love this sort of thing from other artists, so I hope more people do them.
Hear that, Higgs? I want to see this sort of pic from you too. I want to know how to draw your vulpines.

Interesting bit about the leg joints. Was just talking with another artist on how some people draw 'roos in any old position without regard to whether they can physically assume that position. Something weird like this for example:

These studies are interesting. Whether they make any impact on how people actually draw animals is another

Personally I think there should be a writer's/artist's reference assembled that provides information (to be used or ignored) about a wide variety of species for the anthro creator. Identifying characteristics, idiosyncrasies, trivia... anything a writer or artist might be able to make use of. If really complete it might need to be split into multiple volumes -- canines, felines, marsupials, etc.
But just more of thse would be good.
