Middle Earth Flower Faeries - Seregon
"In ancient Beleriand was once a stony hill called Amon Rudh, the “bald hill”, wherein were cut the caverns of the last of the Petty-dwarves. Upon that hill nothing would grow except the hardy Seregon plant. In Elvish its name means “blood of stone”, for when the plant blossoms with it's dark red flower the stone summit appears to be covered in blood. This vision proved prophetic, for the outlaws of Turin were slaughtered upon the summit, and the last of the Petty-dwarves put to death in the caverns below."
The second in a 5-piece series of flower faeries based on flower species from Middle Earth. This was commissioned by
and features her character Sayo as the Seregon flower faerie. (Admittedly, this is my fave of the whole set. ^_^)

As always, I am thrilled when you enjoy the pieces you make for me. So I'm glad you enjoyed this one!
I really like the details in this one. From the layering of the top of the gown, the slightly torn up wings, the blood splatter inspired look of her shawl and wings, and especially of all that background that really tells a story for the setting of the lore that surrounds the flowers. As much as the foreground has a lot of detail to draw you in, I think the background also works very nicely with telling a story and drawing your eyes from the top of the piece down. I think it frames this very nicely and was something I did not expect when I saw the prepose (granted, I had no thoughts about the background at all when I bid XP).
Thank you so much for working on this! I really love the drama in this piece, and is certainly more than I ever expected!
