Oh, living in a pre-workers'-rights era has given him a healthy distrust of anyone with authority over him, which is wise and practical. Getting drafted into a hopeless war so that the nobility could say their country went down fighting left a pretty big impression on him and Elim.
haaaaa, honor to serve those who abuse their power? if I was in knights I'd fall for that =w= not all peasants tend to see the honor if they are abused in any way :P but we are not here to debate PoVs about power now =w= we are here to watch Kassen and co. have a life changing adventure :P
How did you come up with the name Vizlet? Would these terms perhaps be related?
No, although she does have some vizer-ey elements to her! I just do a lot of tumbling syllables around in my head and write down the good ones, then tweak them to fit a particular character if needed.
Hers was originally spelled "Vislet," but it made sense to swap the S with a Z, considering the yinglets' lingual tendency towards hard z sounds.

In fact- there are so many of them that most yinglets are surprised to hear that there are any "city yinglets" at all! Most of them live on the coasts and near the rivers of the sprawling grasslands to the south. Yinglets living in/near civilized areas is a very new and rare thing, and despite Val Salia being just a small, compact city-state, it's the biggest city yinglets have ever settled nearby.
Much more on that to come.

Oh yes, jingly bits on females is an enormously important yinglet cultural pasttime. Vizlet here is an authority figure and takes herself very though, so she is actually very modestly-dressed for a female.
...And something tells me you're going to enjoy the educational visit to the local nursery.

Just caught up to the web-comic in its entirety, as of this moment anyways. I have to say I am eager to read up more and follow the story to the end! This is at the same time entertaining and fascinating, their witty comments make me smile, as well as the unfortunate or unforeseen events (and moments of cuteness). The way you display how the characters see and interpret what is happening to them and how they describe things is very interesting to say the least. Kass has quite a unique Point Of View in his entourage. Quite an opportunity at the cost of nearly everything, including his humanity.
Awesome; glad you're enjoying this little story here! I've always had a thing for very character-centric stories, since it's through them that the reader experiences the plot and setting. Plus, in any story that involves adapting to something new (especially an entirely new body and mind), the heart of it is in a character's change of perception and perspective, so I wanted to make that a major focus in OOPs.
There are a good deal of transformation-themed stories and comics, but many of them tend to skim over the characters' thoughts and feelings about taking on an entirely new form; so I told myself that if I ever wrote/drew such a story, I'd be sure to include plenty of that. And hey, turns out I'm drawing a webcomic now, so...
So anyway, I'm always really glad to hear someone appreciates that aspect! By all means keep reading, because there's so, so much fun stuff to come.

If Vizlet had the mentality of a normal yinglet, she'd be something like this: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=Vkz8BLBJ9_I
Instead, she's an intolerant and serious matriarch who probably has her own agenda she's pushing, considering the look she gave Kass way back in the prologue; you know the one. Kass is meant to be a diplomat to strengthen relations between Ivenmoth and the yinglet enclave, but it would seem that not only does Viracroix have a personal use for Kass but so does Vizlet. I have no theories of what that could be. I want to learn more before I'm absolutely certain.
