Beisa - The Other White (and grey and black) Oryx
I finished* this (fucking finally...) last minute and debuted it at Furfright!
My first real murry furry suiting experience... i have to say, it was loads of fun! Now i've got to figure out the easiest and least risky way to get her to FC, because i don't know if a con will ever be the same again without some dressup :P

* By finished, i mean wearable - though there are still a few things that need work. I need to work on a way (velcro probably) to get the hood to stay connected to the collar so it doesn't separate (it could be worse... my undersuit is black, so it just makes the fur pattern look screwy)
I need to finish the ankles - here i'm wearing leg-warmers that i borrowed from Aura, to hold the flaps of the suit's leg-bottoms in place. This worked pretty well, though... might consider getting my own leg-warmers and just use them. I'd like some that aren't black though, because here it looks like that's part of the fur - too much black. Aside from the stripe on the shin, that area is all white fur.
Also i need to make a flap to cover the back zipper, as you can see.
But other than that, she is fully operational! Like my own Return-of-the-Jedi style Death Star.

Those rings on my horns are glowy-things... not part of the costume, but you know how it goes. :P Horns tend to become places to stick things...
Heather Bruton did my badge... I think she was happy to do an oryx, and she loved the costume too - which is a great compliment to me. In fact, lots of people told me it looked awesome, so i guess i've succeeded!
Oh, and these photos kinda suck. Bad lighting, bad camera... oh well. Good enough! But better seen in person though, eh?
Oryx the oryx was at FF too... i talked to him for a moment, and expressed my interest in getting our photo taken together while both in suit... buti didn't see him in suit until late on sunday when i was leaving, so i'd already packed mine away. Ah well... maybe at FC.

A long time... just because i put it off so many times. Let's see... i made the head like two years ago, with the idea in mind that i'd make a suit for AC'06... FAIL. So i had the head sitting around for a few years while i grappled ineffectually with how to make a bodysuit (i'd never done tailoring or sewing of any sort... it was like a complete unknown) so i didn't really get started on that until a little before AC'08, when i actually succeeded in figuring out the 'how' ... but i ran out of time just a little too late, and didn't ave it done enough for the con. Though i brought the head with me and a bunch of people tried it on :D
As for hours.. the head probably took about 24 hours to make, from start to finish... the bodysuit about 40 (keep in mind i've sewn everything by hand, so that's a good portion of the time) the hands another 20 and the feet another 12. Oh and the tail was separate (i actually made it to be a standalone tail, it's not attached to the suit) it took me probably 10 hours to make.

Apart from the fact that this is a stunning and high quality suit - as far as I can tell - I love the fact that you haven't used those garish cartoon-like 'follow me' eyes. I hate those things. So happy that you used proper eyes for this, it makes the suit look that much more plausible.
Your fursuit looks awesome;; the chem-light rings add a dash of sparkle, whicvh is awesome IMHO. Also, the bikini bottom is also a nice touch, though a nice little loincloth made of suede would look awesome... Jut my .2 cents on it. Nice work.

YAY! I finally get to see it! So sorry it took so long for me to comment here- been crazy busy with visits to see KaniS and the like. I hope the pattern I made for you wasn't too much of a pain- you'd mentioned you'd had to fiddle with it. *hates there were errors on it- she wanted to send you something workable- hopes you weren't too unhappy with it*

If you're going to FC, please, please bring your lovely Oryx? Me and KaniS have our memberships, and so I'm gonna be working like mad to make our dragons in time...

*huggles* No worries! I'm finding ways to do things faster- Maliksr's plushie took just under a month, so I must be speeding up. Even if we don't have full suits, we'll at least have heads to wear around! I'm a-gonna make those first. Cheers!

It was a lot of work and frustration to make... but i have really high standards, and i think it reflects that. Still a few things that bug me about it (like i never made a covering for the zipper on the back, bah) but i'm proud of it anyway.
If you see me prancing around at a con sometime feel free to pull me aside for pictures, or hugs if you're into that :D
