I think this is actually very good. I watched this picture for quite a long time and am wondering what the umbreon is maybe thinking of. The way it is turned away from the viewer, watching the sky, emphasized by the stooped posture of the umbreon makes it deep. The little use of background colours, your use of light and atmosphere focuses the view on the character and makes it quite an impressionistic picture. Just the grass looks too abstract and looks in my humble opinion out of place.
