A medley of just some of the dermagraphics that were applied this past weekend at FurFright 2008. Good times were had.
top row, left to right: A touchup on an older tattoo on
FishyBoner, a new one on AquaSabre, a shamrock tribal for
PaintedDog.
second row, left to right: For
prplhaze, an outline of polar bear skull and crossed swords, as well as the first time I've ever been asked to SIGN a living canvas.
rabbi-tom shows off his second ink, of Quick-Draw McGraw, 11-inch-tall tribal on the thigh of
wolfmoon2002, as seen here: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/693210/ .
third row, left to right: Project Gamma insignia for
likeshine, a custom-designed pumpkin (I had some real fun with that one!) and a bloodstone pawprint for
lamoxlamae.
fourth row, left to right:
betelguese got The Iron Giant, a tribal pawprint for
tonyringtail from a design seen here: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/1538951 , and some dalmatian spots for
bubby610 (thanks for the assist on shaping these, Likeshine and PaintedDog!)

To all who got inked, wear 'em with pride. Stay classy.
Back to regular old commission-finish-upping for me.

You do fantastic work, man. My hubbins gave his 100% approval. I'm still in awe you did so amazing freehand too. Thanks again. I will definately have to talk to you later about my vulture.
I'm really glad you did my first one, I wasn't anxious at all!
No problem. I'm still tickled by Bubby's spots. X)

psst,

and i am in utter love with mine. it looks great. i walked around in a tanktop yesterday (had to after that horrid cold weather) and a few people in Target stopped me and complimented.
now my roomate wants one.
I WILL NEVER BE INKED BY ANYONE OTHER THAN YOU, EVER AGAIN.
mmkay.
Whoa, you drew Bubbys spots? He was telling me all about getting that tattoo done, and I told him I was going to go to FurFright and get myself a dope tattoo done. But I have no idea what I want yet, and there is a guy at Tattooville in New Jersey that said he'll do a complete back tattoo for free.
I dunno what I want to do yet.. D:

PD and I both drew on the spots, yes.
and wow, if you're getting a free tattoo... well. you always get what you pay for, you know? be careful. a full back piece could take multiple visits to complete. i have 8 on my back now, and it's accrued over a span of 6 years...
fossil does excellent work, though. i would hold out for him :3
Yeah true, I might get one done my Fossil. I have to come up with an idea though for my best friend that was killed by a sniper in Iraq. As for the back tattoo, yeah the multiple visit thing is a must but I've seen the tattoo's hes done. Its more or less for my mom that incorporates my furry self on the back with a memorial to her. http://www.tattooville-usa.com/ is the shameless plug to the place that will do by ink, he goes by shoe.

Bang-up work, man - that shamrock especially is SWEET (course the Irish gotta comment on the Irish ;) )... I should pay ya' to tattoo a shamrock on my dad for his birthday next year :D
And way to take the pawprints and turn them into awesome designs, love that bloodstone one :)
Sorry I didn't get to have the Warzy finished up at the con, but once Ricky's back to his full self we can make a date to finish it up (maybe Sunday if ya'all got the time!)

lately? just working on a comic buffer so I can resume in November without worry... <shameless plug!> http://jawc.xepher.net </shameless plug!> ^^;; but other than that, just relaxing... really need to catch up with you on aim or something.. or at the least note you... I'm bad about these things... -_-;;
As mentioned in previous posts:
Tattoos are generally priced individually, based on the size, the amount of detail, color, and estimated time to complete from start to finish. It also helps if you don't give the tattooist a hard time with squirming and complaining, as that can also affect the price.

Glad you like Moon's!
It's varying degrees of uncomfortable, but not excruciating. It's NOT the kind of thing where you go "OH LORD MAKE IT STOP", you just go "ahh.. that kind of sucks." But even the most scaredy-cat people I tattooed at the con will tell you how much they want to go back under the needle for more now.

It feels a little like a really light electric shock, minus the burning. You feel the buzzing vibrations, and yeah, a little pinch, but the pinching is mostly at the first 5 minutes. After that, endorphins have rushed to the scene and flooded the area, so you get pretty zen. Overall, it's not as bad as you might think. Tolerable; uncomfortable, but not excruciating.
I'll be doing them (by appointment only) at AC, so if you are really thinking about it, hit me with what you'd like to get, well beforehand.
Also, got the last of those PNG's almost done for you. :) Haven't forgotten you at all... and not as much of a rush now on those last 2 or 3 tracks.

LMAO you used the photo where you are working on my thigh. Thats awesome!! ^_^ Both tattoos of mine are doin well. MUCH better then when I got the first one done. Using Rubbing Alcohol after skin is open several times....BAD!!!! Using water and alittle bit of soap during tattoo process.....GOOOD!!!! I'll post the faded pic and then the touched up pic soon. ^_^ Fossil iz da Man!!! I wouldn't want anyone else tattooing me unless it is Fossil. Thanks again!!
I always hear that is indeed a fun con, but that's not what keeps me from going. It's more the fact that it's across the country from where I am at the moment. At some point I'll go, and if I do, you'll know.
As it currently stands, I will soon have to make my way over to the other side of the country anyway, to CaliFur in early June.

I'm not sure if it was you or someone else, but I saw someone doing tattoos at AC thus year and simply... Shuddered. A furry con doesn't really seem like a place to get tattooed, and (no offense to the fandom) a lot of furs seem like the type that would get impulse tattoos. Just my 2 cents of course.
Though now I am curious if you'll be at MFF, and if you'll have a portfolio with you- I've been looking for someone to tattoo my next piece.. Then again I might chicken out at the idea of sitting at a con and not in a tattoo parlor.

I felt the same way about it too when I first saw it at AC (I wasn't inking in AC's dealer's room, that was a fellow fur-inker), but as I've mentioned before, he did well, and I thought I'd give it a go. I know the risks are pretty great, but as long as I practice the proper health protocols, I don't worry.
Anyone will also tell you that I turn away what I perceive to be impulse tattoos. I know that it's something that requires a LOT of thought, more than "oh look, a tattooist, I think I want a pawprint". Same goes for the ones who ask for something plain dumb.
As for MFF, it's unknown as of now.

That makes you a very good artist in my opinion if you're willing to turn people away- Many artists no days seem to be in it simply for the money and don't turn away a lot of the people that obviously should be.
I would be quite interested to take a look at you're portfoilo still, given the chance ^_^

Your color work is really amazing. I'm a fan of all of them...but that pumpkin really catches my eye the most. I love every one of those highlights! Really makes it pop out.
Thanks again for the compliment on my tattoo (short-haired gal with a swirly art deco/modern tribal chest piece) at FF on Saturday.
It's so hard NOT to want more tattoo's... But if you do FF next year, hopefully I can sign up for some inking. :3 If I have any skin left to ink!

When I achieve the money and the time and finally finalize my tattoo design, I might consult you at a later date for a tattoo. D:
Because I need someone familiar with tattooing animals and that does them WELL like you can, even though it's going to be an already preset design.
:)
But this is talking in a few years.... BUT I will keep you in mind, what better than a furry artist to tattoo my fursona on me? :3

Woo! Very cool- dunno if I'll be getting to that one, myself- I'm going to possibly be moving around then. Yay for leaving the cold Great White North for the Land of moving Mountains (LA)... I'd love to see you and your tools in action- tattoos are too awesome to ignore, especially when they're damned good ones.
Well I thank you most sincerely! Don't know if you saw/wanted to see or read more about these:

*sighs in longing* Want some inkin'...
Only have one wee little thing in my ear- I asked the tattooist where the most hurty places were... He looked more than baffled (actually, he looked downright disturbed) as he asked "You're doing this for the pain?!"
"Hell, no," I replied, "I just wanna know if I can take it. Who wants to go around with a half-finished tat 'cuz they sucked out in the middle?" He nodded, saying that was a pretty good way to go about discovering that and did the tiny little design I handed him. I'd like to retouch it a bit, but otherwise, I still like it. Hardly hurt at all- actually tickled a couple of times. Guy kept having to tell me to hold still, I was giggling so much. Yes, I'm odd.

I want this as a design http://i81.photobucket.com/albums/j.....ajorasMask.jpg
i'd definitly like to see your take on it. I figure 4x4 on either my right shoulder or my shoulder blade.
