I've had a couple of versions of  preppymarshmousee's character Penny for awhile now. But I hadn't posted any because I was a touch dissatisfied with my rendition of her. A few days ago, I finally figured out what I was overlooking, and turned out this version. By placing her ears more at the sides of her head like the majority of anthro mice, I achieved a look closer to her original design. Before I was trying to perch the ears higher like a cat's ears, which was just not going to work :)

Now, originally this afternoon I was just going to scan the pencils and post this and one other pic in scraps, but somehow I got it into my head to try coloring a sketch. After a somewhat successful attempt on "Runaway Train", I went and spent a few hours on this, an actual serious attempt at doing a sketchy color piece.

Now, why am I doing pics of Penny (aka "Preppy Marshmouse")? This goes back long before my association with either FA or VCL--Penny here has something in common with one of my characters, and the backdrop I stuck in there should give you a clue which one it is. Suffice to say they're going to have a bunch of misadventures in the coming months :)
