A treat for Veteran's Memorial Day:

Our unit color guard was once a regular feature at opening ceremonies for the annual Bay City (Michigan) St. Patrick's Day Parade at the county courthouse on a cold damp dreary Sunday morning. Each of these cadets eventually rose to the position of cadet commander. The cadet closest to the camera became the first B-52G navigator to circumnavigate the globe during Desert Storm. All participants in the ceremonies were treated to breakfast at The Texan restaurant in nearby Essexvile.

My restored 1973 Dodge Charger is parked across the street at the county jail. The other two buildings--a Sherwin-Williams paint store, and a tavern. All three buildings were razed to make way for the new county library only ten years ago.
