Commissioned piece for [fa]Tenka[/fa]. This is a two-point kaginawa (that's a grappling hook, to you), as might have been carried by a traveling samurai back when samurai were a thing. It's a utility item, meant for climbing or hanging up gear, but ninjas were known to hit people with them now and again. Ninjas hit people with a lot of things. This particular kaginawa measures 8" from point to point, and is also 8" in length. It's forged from part of an agricultural S-tine made from high quality German spring steel. Couldn't tell you the exact alloy, but it put up a hell of a fight in the forge.

My grandfather used to make these out of metal rods and a welder and put them on his traps when he was still alive to trap small game, was essentially for if the trap got loose of the stake the hooks would snag a limb or debris and prevent what was trapped getting too far away. Brings back fond memories of a man I can't see anymore by seeing one of these. ^^ Bless you.

I don't think I have a way of doing that, but here's an underside view: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/16660350/
