C later walks to the counter where Noah is, a large book in his paws. "Here is the contact book, now all that's left is to tell the guild what happened and they'll send the best person for the job." Noah nods and smiles as he watches, the task that he will have to one day take on. C opens the enormous book and turns a few of the pages before stopping, placing his paw in the center of the book and sending his energy into it. The book reacts and begins to glow green, a few seconds of this and an orb of light begins being projected from the pages.
"State your business please." A voice says from the orb. "A roc has appeared, and we need help to take it down." C says to the orb, the orb clearing to reveal a wolf mask. "It’s good to hear your voice after so long." The wolf says, his voice sounding stern but sincere. "It’s good to see you’re all right, sir." C says with a smile, it wasn't every day that he got to talk to the leader of the guild. The wolf turns to Noah. “Is that really Noah? He's gotten so big since the last time I saw him." The wolf chuckles as Noah blushes and smiles. "Yes it has been a while, sir." The wolf sighs and ruffles some papers. "How bad was the situation? We might be able to send a specialist to your station." C nods and explains what he knows so far, the wolf nodding as he listens.
"Hmm, I'll have to listen to the details of the fight from the two boys then." He says with a nod. "They're both asleep right now, sir. Kohre should be awake closer to sunset." C says as he watches the wolf nod. "I'll be there by morning tomorrow." The wolf says as he yells for one of his secretaries to pack his things. "Are you sure you should do this, sir? It's a good distance away to this outpost from the guild." C says with a worried look on his face. "If it’s to find out about a roc then it’s a risk we have to take, my old friend. I need to know everything they have found out by battling him, after all we can't let the same thing happen the last time we had a roc loose." C sighs and nods. "Yes sir, I'll ready the shop for your arrival." The wolf chuckles again.
"Please don't do anything extravagant, the less attention gotten now the better. We don't want you to be attacked in your own home after all, and nothing can stop a roc once it spotted its prey." C nods again, knowing very well the incident that the wolf is referring to. "I will be off shortly, please be cautious about those who come near your shop. And don't let either one of those boys out of the house; rocs can have sleeper agents anywhere." C nods again, his ears dropping down at the words sleeper agent. It was a roc that killed Kohre and Rob's parents all those years ago. "I will take every precaution I can, sir. Safe trip." C says before the light clicks off, Noah turning to C.
"Tell me what you need me to do, C. I'm more than willing to share the burden." C rubs his son's head with a smile. "Right now I need you here and with Kohre and Rob. I'll set up some surveillance systems and let some friends know to keep an eye out around town." Noah nods as C walks off, looking through the book left on the counter. This was the second time ever that Noah was allowed to look through the book, for it was only issued to a select few who are in charge of training new recruits from a young age and helping said few with all recorded history of wars, commanders, guild leaders, and even a history of criminals found with what mask. Some are listed with their crimes, and those who have this added have done things that cannot be allowed to happen again.
Noah strokes his paw down the book, looking through the list one name and mask at a time. "Let's see... Spider... Roc... Bear... Owl... Wolf... Wolf..." He says to himself as he scrolls down with his paw before he stops at a specific part of the list, this is something he knows too well. "This is that roc that went on a murder spree... He killed 25 hunters before he was finally brought down and a book was found showing a list and addresses of hunters.
"This is the roc who killed Rob and Kohre's parents, they left him alive in a jail cell because they couldn't kill him when there was so much not known about where he got that book. Seems he also tried to bite his tongue off to keep from talking." Noah says, shivering a little at the thought of how someone like that being on the loose. "This guy was taken down by C and Cart; they were also on his list, a hundred down from Rob and Kohre's parents names. It was also the last one they fought before stepping down." Noah thinks to himself, wondering if this roc is anything like the one that Rob and Kohre fought and if so I wonder if it will turn out the same way. Noah sighs and closes the book, C walking in and stretching.
"Hey, C. I was wanting to ask something." C turns to his son and takes the book, putting it behind the counter before looking back to his son. "What's your question, Noah?" C says with a soft smile as he pulls a stool up. It’s...... It’s about the roc you and Cart took down." Noah says, his ears drooping knowing it’s a rough memory to talk about. C's smile remains on his face as he pats his son gently.
"Don't feel bad about it, it has been something I have been waiting to tell when I felt you were ready. I will tell Rob and Kohre soon enough about it. It was 17 years ago when Cart and I were given the mission to take down the bloody roc, he needed no subordinates or allies and slaughter all in his path. A member of his family was caught by the hunters guild and was held prisoner to try and get some information on a faction aiming to take it down. Cart and I had our hands full trying to take him down, using our personal weapons as well as several others but he was fighting bare handed. It was a long and painful battle, the roc using his energy through his entire body and broke weapon after weapon at our disposal. It was down to the wire and Cart and I had to go to our last ditch effort, I had to perform a full nelson maneuver and then Cart overpowered him till we pried the mask off him. Once the mask was off it was over, the roc went into a seizure like attack where the energy turned on him mid channeling. When we got him to the outpost he had several broken bones, some internal bleeding and some damaged organs, he was so bad off he had to be treated immediately or he would die. It took 8 hours and 4 medics to keep him alive."
Noah nods as he listens, picturing the event in his head. "Rocs sound so scary, and Rob and Kohre barely got away with their lives..." Noah says as he looks down. "They are pretty tough, that's why they survived like they did. That and how the roc took an interest in them, and for me that is just as scary as knowing they went against a roc." C says sadly before getting up. "I'll tell you what happened next after I put the security systems up, okay?" Noah smiles a little and nods. "Okay, I'll go check on Rob and Kohre after you’re done." Noah says with a grin, eager to hear more of the story. His ears twitch to the door as G taps on the door, walking up to the door he gestures the merchant lizard in and closes the door. "C is a little busy at the moment but he will be free soon, is that all right, G?” Noah asks as he returns to the counter, G looking around at the latest addition to the stores sale floor.
"That sounds fine, I know he musssst be busy." Noah looks at G with suspicion, the lizard is known well for his abruptness and making things short. Not once even for C has he been willing to wait, whatever he has come for must be very important. C returns with a drink in his hand, the sales floor starting to heat up as the sun shines brightly outside. C grips the cup as he stops in his tracks at the sight of G. "It’s been a little while, G. What can I do for you." G turns to C and lowers his upper eyelids a bit, like a sneer someone would give for knowing something everyone else wants to know. "A little birdy told me that your ssssons failed to take down someone last night. I was sent by the pour robbed soul to give you a bounty paper." G digs in his pocket and pulls out an envelope, stamped with a two headed wolf on a roc and hands it to C.
"As a friend I made sure to be as discreet as possible for something like thisss." C nods and opens the envelope; a red letter and a folded piece of paper were the contents. The letter tells of a specific book that belonged to the writer of the letter that included locations of hunter jail cells and outposts where hunters live and that with this information no hunter alive is safe.
