I've had a job where the boss actually said that was the only way you could get out of working on the day after Thanksgiving. I decided not to call in dead, though. I have taken hard lemonade for my lunch break, though.

Bosses don't accept the "I can't come into work today because I'm a zombie" excuse anymore, too many people are using it. Cubicles and status reports naturally turn people into zombies, it's nothing new.
