This is a really interesting piece and, I have to admit, a rather unsettling one as well. There's something very creepy about the demon thing sitting on her shoulders, and especially the way it appears to be drooling parts of itself on her. There's something about her downcast and rather hopeless expression that makes the bleak mood all the more powerful as well. That being said, the fact that her wings are still mostly intact and she's still sitting mostly upright adds a note of hope to things as well. Maybe I'm reading things wrong, but she seems hurt but not defeated, and the whole piece has some really interesting contrasts to it.

It's a beautifully done piece as well, and I do hope you won't take my comment about the demon being creepy as a criticism of the work itself. It's just that it's really effective at being rather frightening. I do rather like the orange flames coming from its eyes, and the bright red heart of the creature. Those are done really well, I think, as is the way her wings meld into the creature's body. The stark shadows on the wall behind them, and the rather dim lighting are very nice touches as well. All in all, this really is quite beautifully done.

the fear of falling or in our case failing ?

The wings represent thought. Sometimes our thoughts can become our own "demon" so to speak, wearing us down.

i would have never thought of that, that's a pretty good analogy for the pressures we put on ourselves.
