so - these little monsters are called infernals! they are hellspawn demons that unfortunately lack faces and that torments them all their (un)lives. because of that, they tend to try and ... steal other people (or animals) faces, which doesn't generally work out so well, hahaha. they have a sort of obsessive attraction to life, and will often hang on to one person in particular until that person dies, so that they can snatch their skull. although, it isn't just for the skull, they feel the need to be close to a living thing, as if being close to it will rub off on them. (ironically, there are myths that an awful fate will befall anyone who sees one of them, and legend says that if one starts to track you you'll soon die... tales differ on whether they're attracted to the dying itself, or their presence somehow brings it.)
they're known graverobbers, since dead people/animals are much easier to steal from than living ones. they don't just steal skulls, they'll take any precious items that people poured their life into, things people cared dearly about.
there are rumours of inf's that have gone a bit strange over time and latched onto unusual objects for heads, like cuckoo clocks or rubber duckies, but those are just rumours...
infernals without 'faces' are known to be terribly dangerous. they always feel unarmed or 'naked' so to speak and will lash out if approached. this is very different from most inf's, which usually just track things until they die naturally and aren't very violent at all.
since they're undead, they don't really eat or drink anything. they can if they'd like to for some reason, like politeness, but they wouldn't taste it and it'd just go right through them (they have no stomach or anything).
they also hate touching the ground and will rarely walk, almost always floating instead. touching the ground seems to remind them of their not-aliveness and makes them feel very icky.
