Completed illustration for my digital illustration class! This piece serves a dual purpose, as part of an upcoming dragon themed card deck project, which I'm lucky to be a part of.
I struggled with this piece at first, given the constraints of the assignment. But I found a way to save the composition, and get exactly what I wanted. So I'm pretty happy with this. =)

The concept of a fungal-symbiote dragon is pretty dang neat. I imagine that it eats the larger mushrooms, the spores survive inside it and grow out its back - and then drop their own spores as the dragon wanders around. Could be quite the adaptation. Could be that I'm thinking about Parasite Rex too much.
