This was just a quick drawing I did in response to an ask I had about my gemsona on Tumblr. I know I've drawn her similar to this before, but I wanted to try to make her look closer to the SU style, as well as I updated her look a bit. Below is just the description I gave in response the the ask at the bottom of the post.

I dooooo!! *excited screaming* and I am so happy you asked! Here is a quick drawing of my Gemsona, Obsidian, drawn in the closest SU style I could do. I know it’s a commonly chosen gem, but I did a lot of research before making my final choice (I wanted a black gem that wasn’t a black variant of another existing gem name), and I have developed a lot of characterizations and backstory around the research I have done.
I actually updated her look a little bit when I drew this, and I think the extra green highlights I have added looks a lot better than before. Her colour choice is based around the colour variants most often found in black Obsidian (black/grey being dominant, brown being secondary, green being tertiary). The colour scheme also works b/c it makes her look like any other human, which works perfectly for her character and her ongoing identity crisis (she is also neutrally aligned).
She is very small and fragile like glass (which is what Obsidian is), and as it is black, it is the colour that absorbs all colours (as in saying it absorbs all light, making her VERY sensitive to anything gem related), so her gem cannot not glow itself. I won’t talk about everything else here b/c I’m sure no one wants to read it, but I still like sharing that little tidbit of information ^_^</i>

Haha! though funny enough I didn't notice the resemblance until it was pointed out to me from someone else as well (I based the weapon off of a double-sided dagger (it had a name with something along those lines, it's a type of Indian weapon according to the source I found the image at). I just added the green because it was part of her colour scheme (black/grey/brown/green since I was going with that kind of obsidian). The resemblance was just a coincidence, tbh, but this does make me want to draw her cosplaying him because that would be hella funny xD (demon hunter gemsona lmao)
