Back at home, the wolf reclined into her favorite chair, letting her hand rest on her belly. The moth barely affected her figure, making only a slightly noticeable bulge; with the right clothes, she could hide it entirely, going about her business as usual without anyone else knowing that she had another living thing trapped inside her.
“You don’t alright in there, pet?” She asked.
Inside, Luna had curled into a ball. It was tight and moist, but oddly comfortable. The wolf’s heart lub-dubbed nearby. In response to the question, she reached out with one hand, gently stroking the stomach wall.
“If you ever have some kind of emergency, kick sharply three times,” the wolf said. “But remember, even if I decide to let you out, that doesn’t mean I’m letting you go unless I say it does. Right now, though, I don’t plan on letting you out anytime soon.” The wolf patted her belly. “That’s your new home, so I hope you get used to it quick. For now, though, you just rest and don’t worry about a thing.”
Luna nodded, even though the wolf couldn’t see it, and closed her eyes. “Thank you,” she whispered, as she let the gentle throb of the heartbeat lull her to sleep.
