“The interrogation is finished.”

“Good, good. Did the witness identify the culprit?”

“Er, no, sir.”

“What? What happened? She didn’t choose the suspect from the lineup?”

“Not exactly, sir. You see, there wasn’t really a lineup for her to choose from.”

“What? Why!?”

“Because the suspect ate the other members of the lineup, sir.”

“How did…!? never mind. Is the witness still willing to testify against the suspect, anyway?”

“I would say not, sir.”

“Why not?”

“Because when the suspect left, the witness was in her stomach as well.”

“What!? Why didn’t anyone stop her!?”

“She seemed to be a willing participant. And all of the security present were terrified that they would be eaten as well if they interfered, sir.”

“Well, that’s just… wait, did you say she was willing?”

“Yes, sir. The suspect asked the witness for her permission before eating her, and did not do so until she gave it.”

“Why would she do that?”

“I don’t know, sir.”

“…”

“Sir? What would you like me to do now?”

“Get a search going, and make sure whoever finds the suspect calls in for a lot of backup. I… I’m going to go lay down for a minute.”
