I was honored to participate in the 2016 Werewolf Calendar this year! The theme I chose to illustrate was camouflage. I have always been inspired by the work of Bev Doolittle, a master at misdirecting the viewer and sneaking unexpected subjects into her paintings. It was incredibly fun and challenging to try a composition like this. How many wolves did you notice?
Preorders for the 2016 Werewolf Calendar will be available at Midnight (PST) on September 1, 2015. The first 150 orders will get some extra goodies!

The Werewolf Calendar is always great but it’s going to be spectacular this year! I can’t wait to get mine!
I posted some WIPs of this piece here on tumblr.

Wow, welcome back! We haven't seen you in a while!
It's a glorious piece. Let's play count the wolves...
Of course, poor old deerface has already gotten himself into a sticky position, there in a semi-enclosed area where he can be cornered. He'll live to regret that... briefly.

I only counted five that stood out for me... but I probably missed one or two. Bev had a way of making you miss the big specimen, which was formed by the entirety of the piece.
Gotta have some stones to go after that big old stag with nothing more than a dagger, though. That rack o' stabbers could do those wolves - because they're quite big targets - a world of hurt.
