Alla-Prima Oil Painting
A hawk sits high upon its perch waiting for its prey to appear.
Painted this one the day I had my bike accident to help me cope with the physical pain of my bruised arm and ribs. I honestly only vaguely remember painting this. I know not how long it took, or what I was thinking other then I was in pain, and refused to dull my senses with pain-pills. Pain is an alert that you are a live, and this painting is an example of that. Once it was done I forgot about it, setting it on the drying rack and passed out. That is why its only now getting posted.

Well, the mind only has a very little to do with it. When I do art I am not there, its like an out of body experience where I am lightly tethered to my physical body. I am actually in a meditative state when I get deep in. Its all about feeling at that point. That is why practice is so important, so that the technical skills of art become instinctive. The more solid the foundation of the basics the less thought is required.
If the body is in pain this can actually help to ignore said pain. If the mind or heart (emotion) is in pain then it can mess this all up. That is when I get artist block. This is a very crude way of describing my experiences as an artist.
Thank you for your kind words, I am honored *Bows*
