"Tame birds sing of freedom. Wild birds fly."
Charmy the female Eevee
There are pokemon that treasure their freedom over all. They are not interessted in being caught or tamed by a human and can easily go without arena battles and pokemon journeys. Freedom loving pokemon prefer to search for their food themselfs and trust only in their own skills to defend their lives in the wilderness.
Charmy is one of these pokemon. She happily enjoys her independent live as a stray and strolls through the city outskirts from time to time, taking a break on a grassy hill this evening as it makes her gasp when she gets astonished by the sight of a swarm of pidgeys flying by.
This was requested by the always nice vuieon. It features her pokesona Charmy. That was the first time I painted her in her new pokesona and I must say, that I have enjoyed it. I have referenced the pose by L.I.J. As being a tame pokemon myself I will maybe make a painting as an answer to this showing everyone the advantages of a pet life with a nice trainer.
I hope you all like this painting!
Done with pigment ink on 250g/m² illustration paper and GIMP 2.8.

Thank you very much! Yes, I am getting a good feeling for night and dawn drawings and I am getting much more confident with faces too recently. I am glad you noticed it.
Erebus is such a badass cool jolteon. Although I think he is a wild pokemon like vuieon he would fit perfectly in a noir city environment too. Did you know that it is even canon in the anime series and pokewalker, that wild pokemon live in the backstreets and outskirts of big cities?

Vuieon being one who is honestly near and dear to me, I can tell you that you are spot on with that description. Perhaps influenced by me a little bit in her dislike of the idea of being a tame pokemon. Even though I may not take the idea lf a pokesona to heart like many, I can tell you without a doubt that Augustus would value his independence of a trainer or a... master... above all things. The very idea of it is not to his liking.
As for the art I love how you got her mane and tail in the way she prefers, I must ask, did you use the specific swatches for her fur and fluff, it looks like you did. The look of awe at the beauty of nature and freedom is there and I like how you got it, without it looking like something startled her. And the gradient sky looks rather nice. A piece I feel benefits from the color.
Wonderful work Fangzahn.

Thank you very much for that analysis of my artwork. It is very much appreciated. I am not sure what you mean with swatches. Do you mean the swirly mane of Charmy? I referenced it from the art of Charmy vuieon submitted to her FurAffinity gallery. I wanted her to be as recognisable as possible. That is one reason why I colourised it. Charmy is a shiny eevee. Without the silver colour it could have been more or less any eevee on that painting.
