wow this is an adventure, I really look forward to things that you do to restore it to its wonderful beautiful self. this is definitely a work of art in progress. *hugs*

We are half modernizing it... Still going Japanese style though. I would live to see this beauty in its heyday! But so many things yet to be decided....

So sad to have to cover up all that lovely exposed wood work and the whole tree as a beam! Awww. But at least that means you would be able to lay a layer of insulation in to help keep things comfortable, if you wished, since it will be hidden anyway.

That really is a tiny tub! *snickers* Wuff of Vrghr's size would have to do one leg at a time! *giggles* Or get a crane to hoist wuff's fuzzy rump out of there when he got stuck in place! *giggles more*

Lots of light in the kitchen area! But scrapping it completely does sound like the easiest solution.

*grins* And hooray for "super-toilets". Guess we know where the prior owner's priorities were! *chuckles*

Actually I am pretty sure some of my family members would get stuck too.
We'd have to just take you to the onsens instead! Then you could enjoy the ocean and mountains during the sunset while soaking in nice hot water ;)
Haha! Yes the toilets are a priority! So happy to gave that little treasure of modernness in such a rustic old house! Lol
We are putting a small lift up top... She's a small house... We will need the storage. I have an obsession when it comes to book and decorations. * cringes*

At least you don't have to do the renovations while living there. I tried that and it was very much NOT a fun experience.
