Monster Kid doesn't have any established gender, to my knowledge.

That's correct, but the sprite from the front looks like its wearing a bow. In reality, it's their spikes. For the most part, their dialogue and actions seems more masculine, but they more than likely left the gender ambiguous like the protagonist's for a reason. They do mention they have a sister though.
