Chocolate Okapi - The Column of Light
This one is fairly recent... it's a segment i really like. It's actually designed to be attached to the end of "The Channel" and contains some elements from that song in the second half.
There's one thing i want to change in this song, but i have to fix some shit on my computer before i can work on music. Guh.
(I'll be cutting out some of the obnoxious "Hi!!" samples in the second half, they've worn out their welcome by then.)
Anyway, i do enjoy the flow of this... and fuuuuck, the throbbing subtly pitch-shifting bass blasts make me a little damp. :o

I found this quite difficult to listen to. It starts off well but then it goes on to feel like two tracks battling against one another. The quality is there in the recording but I think the merging of the tunes needs work as it feels like I'm trying to listen to two pieces at once.
Heh, there is no merging... this is one piece :P
I'm not sure why the half-point division would bother you so much... there's not even a change in tempo. In any event, you must definitely not be a proghead or even listen to anything marginally interesting if musical progression insults you so much, lol.

I like some progressive music, but I find a lot of it to be too progressive. There is thought put into the choices, but the execution of the idea is often jarring. To me, this piece does sound like two pieces badly stitched together, almost as though you've composed two different scores and overlayed them.
However, I do understand that without change, no progress can be made and, from the quality of the recording and the individual elements it is clear you do have some talent. But for me, this piece feels sharp and unfinished, confusing and difficult to listen to.
