Gola’s phone buzzed again for the fourth time in less than a minute. Looking down at his phone Gola smiled as he read the message. He had been secretly chatting with this guy for a few weeks now and pushed all the right buttons. For as long as he could remember, Gola had been into puppy play. He loved to pretend he was a dog and had been chatting with this one guy DogsLife4U online about his interests and his desires.
The phone buzzed another time. This time the message read “good pup, we should meet.” Actually meet this guy? That was a bit nerve wracking. Gola had kept his fantasies strictly online till now. Never before had he even considered meeting up with a guy he met online. But, DogsLife seemed to be the real deal. Another message, “you okay boy? You know u want to be my dog.”
Gola stared at the message before typing his reply, “umm, okay. I will see if I can sneak out.” Hitting send Gola couldn’t take his eyes off the phone. The screen lit up again “okay pup, I will see you this afternoon.” Gola read the message and couldn’t help but giggling with excitement.
Later that day:
“I’m heading out for a bit! See you all later!” Gola called out, not waiting for a response before leaving the house. Getting into his car he headed off towards DogsLife’s place. The directions took him just outside of town into a rural area. Turning down the last street he could see DogsLife’s place. It was the only house on the block. “What a setup for a serial killer movie,” Gola chuckled to himself as he got out of the car.
Walking up to the door he rang the bell. He could hear the sounds of two dogs barking inside as a man answered “yes?” the man said. “Oh you must be Gola, I hope you didn’t have a hard time finding this place pup… please come in,” DogsLife said with a smile as he stepped out from the door way and pulled the two large dogs back.
Gola stepped through the door and into the house. Looking around it was actually quite a nice little house. Pictures depicting DogsLife with multiple dogs at various dog shows over the years, all of which are winning first place. A set of trophies glint in the sun on the fireplace mantle with titles like ‘best in show’ or ‘premier canine’ on them. “Did you tell anyone you were coming over here?” Dogslife asked, as he went into the kitchen.
“Ahh… no, they wouldn’t understand,” Gola responded, feeling a bit more on edge. He follows DogsLife into the kitchen and looks out the window. There Gola could see a large number of kennels, at least six of them. Five of them he could see, currently had dogs in them. “You have a lot of dogs!” Gola commented.
DogsLife looked at Gola and grinned, “most of them are strays I picked up here and there. I train them and find them new homes. Did you want to get started? I keep one of the kennels free for just this reason. Put this collar on pup and follow me out back.” DogsLife tossed Gola a blue collar with silver paw prints on it. Gola grinned and felt a lot more at ease then he had before. Putting the collar on he followed DogsLife into the backyard as DogsLife opened the kennel closest to the house. “Get in pup and put on your collar boy,” DogsLife instructed. Gola did as he was told and turned to face DogsLife, the collar sitting loosely on his neck.
Almost immediately Gola suddenly felt strange, as if a bit light headed. Suddenly there was a sharp pain in his hands. Looking down he could only stare in shock as his fingers began to shrink and fuse. The digits shortening as small black claws began to grow out the tips where his fingernails use to be. Short light blue fur, like the color he dyed his hair, begin to sprout in patches all over his hands. “What… what did you do to me?” Gola asked.
DogsLife grinned and took a step forward. “You said you wanted to be a dog. Did you think this was a game?”

When
OtherWords sent me the sketch designs for my "A Secret Rendezvous" piece, he sent me three different sketches. Two of the three jumped out at me and I immediately commissioned one of the other sketches as a prequel to A Secret Rendezvous. Well here it is! The prequel!
