Curious Little Critter
Working on my research late at night again, taking it a little slower, just some laid back scribbling, while I get my tired feet rubbed by one of my newly acquired volunteers
ealdian. So while I was sitting there, I noticed something tiny crawling around under my desk. I didn't hesitate to catch it and after a closer inspection it turned out to be neither one of my test subjects nor one of my volunteers. It seemed to be an anthropomorphic spider, who goes by the name of
akenzin. Friendly little fella, quite fascinating.
Nothing special going on with this one, just a pose I sketched among others of Juniper Sprite. I originally wanted to make the full picture in pixel style but I switched to my regular style in the end, since the shading didn't work out all to well in the pixel style, gotta need more practice on that one. As for the micros I've chosen, I've checked the comments on my latest pictures and see who volunteered for my research and one of them was Ealdian. Akenzin I picked because that little spider guy is just adorable.

Ah yes, so this is the alternative "barefoot" piece you mentioned you've been working on lately - needless to say, it's marvelous. As usual, I must offer my lengthy praise to yet another attractive piece by you.
To begin, like how the lighting in this piece turned out & how it gets darker from the top right corner to the bottom left corner. There's a heavy implication that the only source of light here is Sprite's lamp & I like how his little nose, finger claws & toe claws are gleaming from it. Furthermore, I appreciate how you elected to go with your regular style with this one as opposed to your sprite style. In my opinion, this traditional style of yours has a very polished & refined appearance I must say & I can clearly see the light shining on Sprite's attire. Another instance is that the shading is very noticeable in certain areas such as behind Sprite's head, right within the arm rest & in front of his big feet.
In addition, I would like to rave about your powerful pretty plump plushy paws in all their preeminence. (Please excuse my gratuitous alliterations.) Those wrinkles on your soft soles really make them alluring & I fancy the angle you drew them in. It's no surprise that they require a valiant volunteer like Ealdian to tend to them after a wearisome workday. I'm sure a few more volunteers would be enough to satisfy those fine formidable feet. From the looks of it, the small cat got more than what he bargained for, or perhaps just the right amount.
Finally, I want to compliment your cute reaction to that curious crawling critter which you hold between your fingers. I admire how you drew that stern scrutinizing expression on Sprite's face. Normally, spiders tend to be unfortunately condemned immediately just before being crushed without any hesitation. They're interesting creatures & I find it refreshing & fitting that you put examination before conclusion to whatever you discover, just like how a professor should. Unless of course, they're thieves stealing your work, in which case, it's time to do what you do best. You shrink them down, complete that outfit by slipping on those sweet shoes of yours, which you look apt in, & use "Stomp" on those bugs - it's super effective!
Anyway, thank you very much for these pieces of Juniper Sprite, who, in my opinion, is the first good example that cross-dressing works!
