Ding ding!! Spot on. I live in Japan :) it is a 75 yr old house. You should see the pinions(?) Of the main beams of the roof! Such beautiful huge logs and architecture. I adore that style of craftsmanship.

We found some old newspapers... From right after WW2, and just some fun little art pieces and drawings on walls from the people before. I am keeping as much as possible.
Luckily we gutted the inside, so we found lots of termite damaged beams that we could replace to help strengthen her. She should be good for years to come now :3

Make sure to preserve those newspapers. Document and preserve everything you find really, small pieces of life from eras past like that are often lost.

We still have a FAR way to go, but we are getting there. I am thinking about doing some type of stone work to cover up the old brick ( our plumber kinda kicked out the wall on accident so we need something to reinforce it. )
We just finished putting in the subfloor today. Soooo nice to be able walk with out falling over constantly lol.

Better, and thank you! He is out of the hospital now, and can walk with a cane. My aunt from Texas came up early ( planned to come for Turkey day, just made it a bit early and longer trip) so he is going to be taken care of until my folks can get back to help him. I really do wish I could come home and help out too... Just too much here for me to leave right now. Got to talk to him a few times, and he is in a playful good mood. Sounds a lot better too.

I convinced the hubby into a loft bed. Pretty much our head board is going to be these massive beams that were hidden up in the attic. I cannot tell you how happy I am about this!!!
