This is all cute but who knows how much of this is true. This is all "memories" of what? a 1 year old? From a person who has become mentally unstable and is currently in a hospital bed due to going apeshit and attacking someone in a court room o.o;;
Still loving this comic but really curious how much of this is memories she's legitimately bringing back or fake ones.

True.
But again, The whole Zee-Zee thing could also be her mind playing tricks.
I'm happy with either way this goes but the comic seems to be placed in a world without magic and what not. So unless she's opening that can of worms down the line then logically it'd have to be her mind slipping.

I can see Souffle's point but if she thinks he needs to stay away for now she must have her reasons. There is such a thing as having an intervention but you need a 3rd non invested party to help out. This is just fanning the blaze, whatever his "dilutions" are. I kinda don't blame Jack, Souffle seems to be positioning himself. It's almost like he's taking advantage of his absence to fill in that void. As in trying to replace Jack...
Sounds like at least from Nicole and Souffle's point of view, Jack's delusional, meaning that they *haven't* been sleeping together. Gem *is* Jack's daughter, unless they're lying to themselves and each other. That can happen, of course, but ... I dunno. It doesn't seem like it from what they're saying.
That's assuming this memory is accurate, though. Remembering things that happened when you were 1 year old is usually impossible. I don't know how this is happening.
This story has multiple dream/memory threads in addition to the waking life thread. Which suggests another possible addition to the Found Index, labeling scenes according to which thread they happen in, but I'm not sure I can accurately label them all until the story is over. Anyway, there seems to be
* the daycare thread, which doesn't seem to reflect memories of real events, because in actual memories Gem wouldn't have been talking to ZeeZee and Rasile about whether this was a dream or not
* the flipside thread with the burned-out house, which doesn't seem to be exactly real either, because ZeeZee tells Gem to wake up in that one too -- the ones where Jack is talking to her probably fit into this category too
* things that really seem to be Gem's memories, because nothing impossible happens in them, like the first time she remembers her mother, the trip to the seaside, and possibly this thread here
* things that are somehow ZeeZee's memories, and I've got no idea how Gem is seeing those
* things that are actually just Gemma's dreams, like the courtroom nightmare where she ends up diapered and humiliated
On the other hand, perhaps they are all memories, just with "breaks" in them where Gem and ZeeZee talk, or Gem and Jack. And ZeeZee and Jack might not be literally present, just representatives of different parts of her subconscious, the part that thinks Gem is capable of loving others and being loved herself, and the part that thinks she's garbage and should be thrown away. Or they're literally somehow present, though I'm not sure how that would be, short of some kind of magic. There hasn't been any evident magic in the main story world so far, so I'm going with the idea that they're representatives of different sides of Gem's subconscious, and that she's been having a very slow breakdown for quite a long time that's only been coming to a head in recent days (since the story began). Although ... how ZeeZee could be showing her memories that she wasn't there to see keeps tripping me up. Could she and ZeeZee be seeing another therapist, perhaps a hypnotherapist, and they all decided that Gemma shouldn't remember the hypnotherapy sessions for now (the only places where she sees ZeeZee), but her subconscious hasn't been playing along fully? Perhaps Dr. Kitsune doesn't know about these sessions, and the unnamed hypnotherapist doesn't know she's been going back to Dr. Kitsune? I don't think so; this idea is getting more complicated than the story already is by itself. I don't get it but I'm sure I eventually will. :)
If I were Gemma, this happy birthday scene would be somewhere I'd like to stay for a while, so maybe that could parallel/explain why she's unconscious and not waking up. But if it starts turning unpleasant like a lot of her other dreams have lately, and Jack tries to intrude, that might change.

I love Rasile in the lower left panel, haha, that face he's making. ;)
Also, since this is page 314, they should be having Pi, not cake. ;)
I wonder of perhaps Souffle ends up being with Gem's mother under the 'he thinks we are, so we may as well, and then that's why she confesses later, because it wasn't true at the time when he saw betrayal that didn't exist, but it does later.... Effectively a self fulfilling prophecy.
On Jack's hand, people believe what they want to believe, and whether or not betrayal exists he's convinced it does and that Gem isn't his. On top of that, he blames her for his situation even though it's not her fault. People are often their own worst enemies. Maybe the resentment he's always harbored towards his brother's ease with social matters is taking over. He works harder because he can't just openly talk about his feelings so he spends more time at the office because that's what a good provider does...
