I agree, I was stating that this is how I've come across the most in this particular neck of religion, with almost word for word delivery. "We're not the judging type. But we've already made judgment that you're in the wrong/have done wrong and need our help or whatever."
I know a family like this like on the other side of town like this. I feel the same gesture. Like They're very nice and al but they seem too happy for me
Happy people make me feel uncomfortable like they're hiding their true selves behind religion. she's so cute and clueless though

Nooot exactly
It's a group that's for single people that's generally based off the assumption "being single is a problem that needs resolving". Especially for women, that means "how to catch a man", ie how to make yourself dateable (and in this case, to proper christian men)

I see, I thought that might be the case but it was hard to tell. It night also be that the subject matter does not put many in a joking mood. I have been in this exact same situation before and it's incredibly uncomfortable. Reading this is bringing back memories, some recent, which have left me slightly less receptive to humor.
That being said I do admit that throwing rocks, while possibly causing future problems, would be a very satisfying short term reaction. XD

I'm just going to say it. This bear lady is not being mean. She's not being malicious. She's not even trying to be judgmental. If she's guilty of anything it's being too chipperly clueless and socially awkward because of it.
The comments condemning her I just don't get, because she's not so much frowned an eyebrow at either of them this whole time. She's been nothing but nice to this point. She's just clueless and it could be say due to nothing more than a lack of experience with other people, since it doesn't seem like she really gets out much from what we've seen so far. People like that can easily be taught and shown their error in thinking IF you don't have someone with a knee jerk reaction ready to pounce due to some perceived slight.

I totally agree with this comment. She is making insensitive comments, sure, but most sane and reasonable people if you tell them that what they are saying is hurtful they tend to correct themselves. She might just be clueless as to how she's coming off. If however they try to mention it to her and is unapologetic and continues her insensitive comments that is when she needs to be called out for her behavior. Everybody is eager to leap to conclusions in this situation but I am still willing to give the Christian family the benefit of the doubt for now.
I was enjoying the series and all... but I'm kind of sad that the Christians are being thrown under the bus, or seem to be being set up to be. Should be used to it considering that Christians are universally loathed in most furry-related art and stories. Ah well, gotta toughen up my feelers, I guess.
I _am_ a Christian. I'm writing this from a perspective of a place I came from, where Christians are automatically Right and everyone else is suspect. I wrote this initially to disabuse myself of that notion, that I should automatically view someone suspiciously because they're a different religion, agnostic or atheist. It isn't right and it's definitely not healthy.
My initial draft was a little mean to Eliza, though after I started, I decided I would try to be fair rather than go for cheap shots.

Thank you for responding to me, first of all, and let me say that I definitely didn't presume to tell anyone what they are and are not. I certainly wouldn't like it if someone said I wasn't a Christian, so naturally I didn't want to do that to you either.
Second of all, I'm sorry that I let my interpretation of things interfere with what I was reading and end up with me being a bit unfair. I didn't fully understand the angle that you were going for, and as a result I kind of... assumed the worst, I suppose. I suppose part of that is that crowds we've been around are pretty different, right? I mean, in the groups I've been in, it's pretty much the default to consider that Christians are the worst people in the entire universe and that literally everyone should talk down to them like they're children, which, as you can imagine I'm sure, grew exceptionally tiring and insulting. (Had one guy tell me that atheists are more inherently moral people because they can make up their own minds about what's right and wrong, for example.) Furry sites especially felt as though they were trying to do an awful lot of seal clubbing with a lot of comics portraying Christians as being utterly insufferable. Again, I shouldn't have let that perspective leak into your work, which isn't fair as it's separate from others'.
There was also the fatal mistake of daring to read comments, some of which are, well... kind of "a lot" if you know what I mean.
Anyhow, I made this way too long, as I doubt you're too interested in the motives of the mistake of some random guy on the internet. Suffice to say I hope you'll accept my apology for jumping to conclusions and perhaps being a bit too abrasive on the first post, and that hopefully I won't make myself look like a jerk if we ever interact again.
