8" x 12" color pencil and Copic markers
I started this guy at MFF just over two years ago. I wanted to start another piece this weekend but I kept looking over at the stack of uncompleted work. So I grabbed this and started coloring. Maybe if I can get him done, I may gain a better mindset and be able to complete more.

That sounded familiar but I had to google it. Reading the description and story/legend, turns out I already did. http://www.furaffinity.net/view/8694961/
Actually, I was working with another Native American legend when I drew it and have most of a short story written. The name of the creature escapes me right now but to the tribe, it is still a vile monster. Oh yeah, the Windego! It was a suppose to be what started the beginning of the legend.
And I would love to do a proper illustration (in color) of the Wampus cat legend of which you speak. Crap! Now you got me thinking of doing that now instead of finishing cheetah guy here. I suppose I could work on both at the same time. :D

I think you could quite easily make him anatomically-correct without it being prurient or obscene. After all, seeing a male cheetah walking around on a nature show doesn't make you think 'obscene'. :P
A subtle, telltale 'double bulge' under the tail would really give the masculine feel to the picture, but would be no more prurient than an ambiguous tuft underneath a bull or a ram's belly.

YEEEES!!!!!
Finishing old work is leagues harder than starting new ones.
I see an unfinished piece and think, "I just don't have the confidence to make this what I envisioned so long ago."
I just assumed I'd never get there.
Thanks for giving me hope that one day I will.
Inspiring.
