I'm not bashing it or anything but this is one of the things i've never been able to understand. These are honest questions for my own understanding so please take NO offense none is intended.
1. Is this sexually arousing to some people?
2. Why? I mean, i have guesses but what do you all find attractive about the concept personally.
3. What is more attractive to you guys? being swallowed or swallowing. Or is it like BDSM where some are sub some are dom and some are both.

1: Yes, in some cases it can be arousing to different degrees to some people. It's just like any other fetish, people who aren't interested just don't get it, but the people who -are- into it... just... get it.
2: I'm not sure, I guess it's just something in our brains. I know some people that love getting wet with saliva from being in their mouths, and i think I knew someone at one point that liked getting shrunk down inside the stomach and then entering the bloodstream. Heh.
3: There are people who are 'preds' and 'prey' (who prefer to do the swallowing, and being swallowed respectively) and then there's pred/pres who are essentially both... I always figured the swallowing would be the obvious choice, but there's been a lot of people who prefer to be a 'prey.' Looking at it now I guess I can see why they'd like that better. There's also people who will absolutely refuse to be a prey, and are strictly preds. There's even those who prefer to be eaten by a certain species (the person I knew would only be eaten by foxes)
I don't know much about inflation... or baby furs... and fat furs, cause I'm not into those, and the person that I knew who was into baby furs I haven't seen in ages so I can't ask either.
Some of the stuff I said up there can be said for about any fetish... bondage? They like it just cause they do... Um, rubber. some people like being turned into rubber pooltoys (usually sexual pooltoys) etc. I don't get it, but other people do, and that's fine by me I guess =p

Interesting, well me I can understand a few things and explain them like take for example my attraction to
"furries".
1. Warm soft fur, whats not to love about that
2. The ventral fur pattern (lighter underbelly and inner thigh and stuff like that) really accentuates the female form in all the right places
3. the idea of what an anthro could do with that muzzle o.o
4. the added expressiveness and character given to a person with ears, tail, fur (hackles rising etc) just makes for more interesting characters to me
Another thing, similar yet different. I have a phobia of spiders. I dont know why I am terrified of them, but I am. I know most of them are harmless but still. One "source" of that fear though that I have identified is the skeletal-ness of their legs, their spindly, sinister creepy pointy pokey plenty-o-legs is something that definatly makes me cringe. Now that being said i guess i cant really say WHY it does, so i understand the points made on fetishes :3

2. I've said it before, and I'll say it again--being enveloped by a hot, wet, soft tube of flesh makes a whole lot more sense as a sexual fetish than... feet. Yet foot fetishism is much more popular.
But really, it's not about the relative "merits" of different activities... nobody (that I've heard of) ever decided on a sexual fetish based on a list of pros and cons. It certainly can tie in to other sexual enjoyments, most primarily domination and submission (heavy elements of submission involved in being prey...), but that's only incidental. We simply like it, for no apparent reason. Now that I have a name for what I enjoy, I can look back and realize that it's been with me even before I knew what it was, and as far as I know it's been with me since birth. I remember holding myself at the top of a waterslide, just to feel the suction, and being aroused by it. (And at the time it never crossed my mind to wonder why I was doing it.)
Unfortunately the answer is that you're probably not going to get a satisfying answer, unless you can accept the fact that it takes all kinds, and there are always going to be people who like things for no apparent reason. Having such a weird fetish has helped me realize this fact, and realizing this fact has helped me accept other people's fetishes without judging, and even appreciate the psychological nuances of each one. A lot of it can be either a factor of domination or another level of love and affection, or both. For those who like having "fatal" aspects in vore (or at least forego reformation) their biggest drive might be knowing the prey is truly just sustenance, regardless of the relationship between it and pred.
There's also the factor of just finding an attraction to the feeligns of eating or being eaten and those feelings attributed to something more than mere food items but living creatures, usually sentient. I'd imagine it would feel quite amazing and beyond sensual to be swallowed whole and alive, all that drool, heat, tongue, stomach... and of course eating another fur, letting them slide down my throat, it's all quite arrousing ]:8)
